Another shot from my first steps with a DSLR. I think this was the best thing about getting one - being able to take halfway decent live music pictures. Before I took them with Film on my Canon A1, and it was incredibly hard to press the shutter in just the right moment. Plus, I only got usable results with a flash. Not my favorite thing. Then I discovered continuous shooting, and that on a camera where it wouldn't cost me anything until I had the good ones printed. This was with the kit lens, the old 18-55.
I just wish I'd had the editing tools I have now:
There's still an awful lot of luminance noise in there, but it certainly beats what I got 12 years ago.
